Santa visits St Gabriels!

We had a very special visitor in Junior Infants. Santa Clause heard we were doing great in school from our class elf - Emma. Santa even spoke some Elfish to her, it was amazing! We had never heard Elfish before.

We loved chatting to Santa about Christmas and he told us to remember he is coming very soon! Santa even gave every boy and girl a gift. 

Santa left us prizes for our two raffle winners- well done girls!

November Activities in Room 2

November has been a busy month for Ms Moran's Junior Infants. 

We've been practicing writing our number two and making sets of two out of our little animals. We've had a lovely time learning about print in Art and had fun with our 'Clothes' theme in Aistear.

The senses - taste test!

 

In junior infants, we are learning about taste. We learned about salty, sour, sweet and bitter foods. We even tried some things that were salty, sour, sweet and bitter. Some of us liked lemon slices, but we all loved marshmallows. Then, if we liked the food we coloured it green and if we didn't like it, we coloured it red. We really enjoyed our taste test!

 

Will it melt in the sun? Science Week

 

In Ms. Moran's junior infants this week, we looked at things that are hot and cold. We choose foods and materials and predicted if they will melt in the sun. We used chocolate, pasta, a coin, an ice cube, lego and marshmallows. We all took a look and guessed if the items would melt. We coloured them with green if they would melt and if they would stay solid with red. We had lots of fun learning about melting. We even found out what happens chocolate if we hold it for too long!!
